The Future of Housing is Green
Eco-Friendly Green Building is quickly becoming the most popular way to build or remodel at Lake of the Ozarks
The only sector of the building industry to show an increase over the last few years while most of the construction and real estate industry has declined is the Green Building Industry.
There is more than one reason for this, but one of these factors are the tax credits and rebates being offered by federal, state and local governments and local electric co-ops.
These credits and rebates have made it quite attractive to use renewable energy sources and the Federal Governments tax credit is a whopping 30% with no cap which last through 2016 for the following:
- Geothermal Heat Pumps
- Solar Energy Systems (including Solar Water Heaters)
- Small Wind Energy Systems
- Fuel Cells
While these incentives are in place and with the savings these technologies provide it is hard not to look into converting to Eco-friendly green energy sources. The benefits are great and the only downside, which was the cost, has now been greatly reduced. If you are building you can now install Geothermal for no more than a conventional system. If is is a retro fit the extra cost will be negligible and quickly recovered, but the savings to your pocket and the environment continue forever.
